Phénomènes aérospatiaux non identifiés

Le 15 août 2018, la Fédération des scientifiques américains (FAS) dépose une demande d’information selon la procédure FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) et obtient la liste de 38 études, dont cinq ont été rendues publiques à l’instar des trois vidéos et du rapport de l’incident de 2004 (26). Elles traitent principalement d’astrophysique, de matériaux, de propulsion, de neurosciences, abordant, pour l’une d’entre elles, la théorie de voyages interstellaires à une vitesse supérieure à celle de la lumière. Si certains journaux mettent d’abord en doute la véracité de ces études, la demande de FOIA de la FAS met fin à cette spéculation (27). Le sénateur Harry Reid est également critiqué pour avoir favorisé Robert Bigelow, mais l’attribution du marché a suivi une mise en concurrence. Reid déclare que les États-Unis, la Chine et la Russie sont engagés dans une course technologique sur l’étude des objets volants non identifiés (28). La publication soudaine de ces informations conduit à un réexamen de la question des phénomènes aérospatiaux non identifiés. Ceux-ci avaient déjà fait l’objet de premières investigations au lendemain de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale où les observations s’étaient multipliées dans de nombreux pays, dont certains coupés culturellement du monde occidental, comme l’URSS ou la Chine.
